Objectives Of The Society

a) To promote the scientific development of Maritime and Allied Industry and all its branches and to further enhance the knowledge without any Political, Religious, Cast Creed discrimination bias.

b) To enable Goa/Goan Marchant Navy Maritime officers to meet and correspond to facilitate the interchange of ideas respecting improvements and improved methods of working. To publish and communicate information on such objectives.

c) Promote research to reduce the environmental impacts of Maritime activities, including assistance to Ports and Vessel operators.

d)  To help advance economic development, improve energy security, improve access to energy, and mitigate climate change.

e) To provide technical consultancy whenever asked for by Industry, Government, Semi- government / Quasi-government bodies, and Institutions by utilizing the vast diverse experience of its group members. Coordinate with all Government and non-government organizations in their objectives to emerge Goa as a better Maritime hub for the Maritime industry.

f)To Promote various technical expert committees in Marine Engineering/Shipbuilding/Repair/Marine Environment/Maritime and Shipping Industry.

g)To disseminate Information on the Government Rules, Policies, and notifications among the members of the Association.

h)To coordinate with various agencies, whether Government or otherwise, to ensure that, Rules and Regulations in the Maritime sector have a positive impact on shipping and related allied Industry and are in accordance with National and International regulations.

i)To support and promote the development of a fair and just regulatory framework for the benefit of the Maritime Professional community in Goa.

j)To improve the quality of service to Goa’s Maritime professionals by encouraging training and learning with the latest technological and regulatory upgradation. Also, provide consultancy for job opportunities in the marine field with a special impetus to create more officers in the marine industry by providing a roadmap for its sailing members with off-shore and on-shore opportunities.

k) To Interact with various Maritime Academies and Institutes, encourage and guide young students to pursue careers in the Merchant Navy and maritime industry. To conduct Technical and Educational classes/sessions for its members and other members of the maritime industry.

l) To expand the opportunities for shipping services focusing on best practices and safe and environmentally sustainable operating procedures. To support the Efficient Maritime shipping industry and its allied industry services.

m) To have good working relationships with various organizations of National and International interest that work with or in support of the Maritime Industry, Educational Institutes, Marine Associations, and Maritime Academics.

n)To create an association of current and retired officers for the welfare and well-being of the fraternity members.

o) To provide a forum for networking amongst members, discussion, and the exchange of information between them. Compile data on the Industry/Members and maintain information sharing to provide a platform for social interactions and special interest groups in the Maritime sector.

p) To organize conferences, seminars, workshops, training, etc for the mutual benefit of the members in academic professional, and/ or business areas.

q)To promote a spirit of entrepreneurship and act as a facilitator/Collaborator with various agencies/professional bodies/educational institutions and Maritime Industry.

r)To promote various social causes in the field of literature, music, drama, fine arts, sports, etc.

s)To work for the betterment and upliftment of the Merchant Navy Officers (working/retired) and to assist and help their family members as required after necessary due diligence.

t)To provide educational and medical assistance to members belonging to the weaker section of the society, as required (irrespective of caste, creed, or religion), after necessary due diligence.

u) To arrange/establish libraries, reading rooms for the use of its members and society at large.

v) To make adequate arrangements for the poor and weaker sections of society, widows, handicapped orphans, old aged, and mentally retarded persons as deemed fit and proposed by the governing council of the association.

w) To arrange and establish medical and charitable dispensaries and promote healthcare including preventive healthcare, sanitation, irradicating poverty, malnutrition, etc as deemed fit and proposed by the governing council of the association.

x) To Contribute to rural development projects in the Maritime Sector.

 y) To help victims of natural disasters and those affected by any pandemic, epidemic, endemic, and/or any serious illnesses.

All the incomes, earnings, movable and immovable properties of the Association shall be solely utilized and applied towards the promotion of its aims and objects only as set for in the Memorandum of Association, and no portion thereof shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividends, bonus profits or in any manner whatsoever to the present or past members of the association or to any person claiming through anyone or more of the present or the past members. No member of the association shall have any personal claim on any moveable or immovable properties of the association or make any profits, whatsoever, by virtue of this membership.
