Membership Criteria

GMOA MEMBERSHIP APPLICABLE FOR ALL MARITIME PROFESSIONALS (Including All Junior Ranks) HOLDING CERTIFICATE OF COMPETENCY (COC).

Membership Admission:
 
A person who has attained the age of majority and who fulfills the following conditions
 
below can apply for membership-
 
i) Only those who have sailed on vessels with a Recognised Certificate Of Competency COC either valid or expired, Issued By INDIA. UK, SINGAPORE, AUSTRALIA. NEWZEALAND or any White Listed Countries and with a valid government Photo ID proof like Aadhar Card, Voter Card, Driving Licence, Passport and/or
 
1. Goan permanent residents who are sailing.
 
2. Goan permanent residents who have quit sailing, and who may or may not leave Goa in the near future.
 
3. Goans staying abroad for employment purposes who may or may not visit Goa for a prolonged period.
 
4. Any individual from any other state in India who is working in Goa in the maritime field with a minimum one-year residence in Goa and who can show documentary evidence for the same will only be eligible for Ordinary Membership.
 
ii) All applications for memberships shall be placed before a meeting of the Managing Committee and such persons shall become the members if admitted by the Board of Management. The Board of Management shall have the right to reject any application without assigning any reason for the same.
 
iii) Full refund will be reimbursed if the application is not accepted by the managing committee.

TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP

Life Members:

a) Any person who has faith in the Objectives of the Society and zeal to work for its furtherance and pays a non-refundable fee of Rs. 5,000/- (Rupees Five thousand only) as a subscription for the Society once in a Life Time will be a Life Member of Society.

b) Any Goan resident (permanent or having at least five years of domicile) is eligible to become a Life member and at the same time must fulfill conditions of Clause 6(a)(i) (1 to 3).

c) This membership is open to the first three hundred members/thereafter any changes affecting the following AGM.

Ordinary Members:

a) Any person who has faith in the Objectives of the Society Work and pays a Non- refundable fee of Rs. 1,000/- (Rupees One thousand only) once in a year will become an Ordinary Member.

b) A person must fulfill conditions of Clause 6(a)(i) (1 to 4) only then can be admitted as an ordinary member.

Members’ Rights and Duties:

a)To Elect the Governing Body of the Society

b)To attend the Annual General Body meetings regularly.
